Sync with Outlook

I am thinking of upgrading from the Motorolla V551 to the SE w810i.

I love all the features of the w810i, but I have a couple of questions.

Is it easy to sync the calendar and contacts between the w810i and Outlook?

Is the software to sync inlcuded with the phone (I had to buy the V551 software separately and it doesn't do a good job with the contacts).

Thanks

Marc

You need Sony's PC Suite to sync. It will sync your contacts, calendar, notes, and tasks. It may come with the phone (I never bothered to pop in the cdrom) but if it doesn't you can download it for free from the SE website. Plus, the USB cable that comes with the phone is all you need. You don't have to buy additional cables like so many other phones.

Enealio,

Thanks for the reply.

Can the memory stick be upgraded to the 2 gig stick?

How easy is the menu system for an SE? I went to a cingular store to play with one and had a hard time getting around, but that might be normal for any phone that one isn't familiar with.

Thanks

2gb? BAH! Go up to 4GB! The phone will take it no problem. Just get a card reader if you don't already have one. The transfer rate is mucho faster than using the USB cable.

oh, and as far as the menu goes, it's pretty good. i came from a nokia and like the SE menu much better. i know that cingular's branding does make it a bit difficult, but after flashing the phone the menus were hella better.

Since T-mobile doesn't offer this phone, is there any difference using a cingular phone or an unlocked phone on T-mobile's network? Will Outlook cause any problems? Thanks.. 👀

i don't see how outlook could cause any problems since it's just your computer talking to your phone. it doesn't involve your network at all.
