8700c and AOL Instant Messenger

Hi,

Does the 8700c from Cingular let you use AOL AIM?

If so, is it an app that comes with the phone or do you have to purchase it?

Thanks

How to set up email on BB

I am considering getting the BB 8700 and want to now how to set it it up to receive my cooperate email. My company is a small European company wit the the mail server being in Europe. My questions is do all I need to do is set up the following?

POP3 Server info
SMTP Server info
user name
return email address
& finally my password for authentication

Also does my company need to have any special server or software? Our IT people are in Europe so people here in the are a bit clueless.

2 of my co workers have Treo 650's and recommend it and have email sent not pushed to them. Would the BB and treo use the same settings. Could I enter the same info they have on the Treo and get mail pushed to the BB? Thanks

Email

Anyone out there using this BlackBerry know if you can now choose which email as shown as your sent email? For example, I use a work email account and a personal account account. When sending out emails, would I be able to show my personal email account being used as the sent from address versus my work email account and vice versa?

I know that you can go on the BlackBerry desktop client and manually set whether you want your sent from address to show as being sent from the BlackBerry email address or a different email address as you list and select.

Sport Scores Application

I am looking for an application that will allow me to view sports scores. I tried SportSeeker but it won't work on the 8700. Something with MLB, NBA, NFL, NCAA Basketball and Football is preferable. Cingular has a few applications that I like but they don't work on the 8700 either. I also tried a few RSS feeds and thats just not my bag. Any reccomendations?

Purchase Decision

I'm thinking about ordering smartphones for my office. I'm wondering what you are all wondering - looking for some advice. I am looking at the BB 8700 and the Treo 700 right now. I also know that the Nokia E61 and Motorola Q are coming? What's the thought process - pros and cons - and what device you think is best? Sorry about all the dumb questions.

Thanks

Sales continue to increase

Here's an article which shows that although RIM has its legal issues, sales continue to increase.

Anyone worried?

Anyone worried about picking up one of these bad boys considering all the RIM legal issues? I'd hate to drop a hefty bill on this and have to stop using it just when the party is getting good.

8700c Rejecting SIM

I was just wondering if anyone else was having or knows about this problem. I have several customers that call me on a regular basis saying that about once a week the 8700 will say, "SIM Card Rejected" and they have to take off the battery and power cycle it. Then it's good for another week.

Looks Great!

Now this is a BlackBerry I can sink my teeth into. I've considered picking one up for a while now but the size has concerned me a bit. The sleeker, sexyier design seems well into my likes.

Blackberry Push 2 Talk

Wouldnt it be interesting if the 8700C supported Cingulars New Push 2 Talk Service.

Wait a minute...

Hold the phone. A blackberry? A RESEARCH IN MOTION Blackberry? Well, it looks like the RIM team is going to try to go out with a bang before they go out of business thanks to that patent lawsuit which had appeals rejected by none other than the Federal Supreme Court. Does anybody know when they are going to have to stop selling them in the US? I highly doubt that they have enough liquidity to pay the 400 something odd million that they owe, so the doomsday is going to have to come sometime soon. 😢
