Clock frequently off by 4 hours??

Man, this is my 2nd e815 for various reasons including a clock that was off with the first phone. Now, this phone's clock is frequently off by 4 hours. Many times I noticed it being 4 hours ahead, and I am also having problems with my alarms not going off???

I called VZW and they had not answer except "stop by a store so a tech can look at it".

I like this phone over the vx8100 but there are several issues that are still frustrating!!

Few small added details. I am in Western Pennsylvania, in EV area on weekend and no EV during the week.

In response to the alarm clock not going off. If you receive a text message and do not view it, the alarm will not sound at the specified time. For some reason an unviewed text message takes priority over a set alarm. Read this info on Howard Forums. Tried it in a VZW store. Sadly, it's true.

Well that explains the alarm clock. But I still don't understand why my clock has been ahead by 4 hours several times?????

😕 That is a strange problem. The clock on my phone has always been accurate. I drove from Phoenix to New Orleans with it and it even knew when we changed time zones.

My old phone would constantly fall back 2 hours. It started doing it after some type of circuit or cable was cut near where I live.

there is a simple solution to this. how do you think cell phones get the time? from the nearest cell tower. apparently your nearest tower is screwed up since it happened on both phones. when you buy the phone, it is set to auto-update time. this means the time changes with the tower. all you gotta do is disable this and manually set the time. go to:

menu->settings->initial setup->time and date:

turn OFF auto update. highlight the time up top and set the time manually.

the time may go away when you power cycle the phone...not sure about this...but simple solution to that if that occurs is to not power cycle it 🙂 this should fix your problem.

check to determine if anyone else on the VZW network is having a problem when using your local tower. If they are then you can be assured it is the tower and then you can both complain to the executive office.

Mine did the same thing too! I woke up at 2:10am one morning,checked my phone and it read 6:10am. I woke my husband thinking he's late for work-he wasn't pleased at this.So, I figured it was a fluke but after it kept happening night after night it was just the straw that broke the camels back. This thing just had too many issues and had to go so I got a Samsung and it never happened again. So I'm not sure if its a cell tower issue or not.
