When do you think Helio will finally go under?

I mean all these stupid MVNOs that try to make a name for themselves always end up biting the bullet and closing down... AMPed.. mobile ESPN... disney mobile.. etc.

They always claim the same idea, "We're not trying to compete with the big 5 carriers" Oh really?? Then how do you expect to succeed morons?

So when do you think is the day Helio will bite the dust? Because honestly, all they're doing for me is taking up valuable space in my store.

Not for another 3 years atleast.

Sk Telecom (the parent cmopany of Helio) has dedicated itself to a 5 year money losing deal. Helio is at year 2, go figure it out. Sk has also made attempts to invest 5 BILLION bux into Sprit. People with that kind of money are in another league when it comes to capital investment.

Im pretty sure they will do the evaluation to continue or to stop at the end of the 5th year.

If Helio is wasting space in your store then, its one of two things either you can't sell helio or your in the wrong area. Either way Im doing ok and rolling around in Helio commission, I guess I'm just lucky.

I just recently signed up with Helio and I love the service. I have the Ocean and its the best mobile device I have ever owned. I think Helio will continue to do well. No other company offers what Helio does...All-In plans. 🙂

i agree i have had their service for a few months now and i have the ocean its wonderful helio offers so much more than other carriers and if they are taking up space in your store learn how to sell if people are buying other phones there is no reason they shouldn't want a helio

I don't think helio will go under. They have entered the business in a very intelligent way and they are not rushing into anything. Everything has been a well thought out process with them. And the phones they have are awesome.

If Helio does not have mature intelligent customer service representatives they will not last. I like the rates they offer, but customer service is zero. There is no continuity whatsoever. I am in a trial period. The current phones are weak, battery life on the Finn is next to zero as well. Internet access is limited on the Finn. The web pages do not come up in HTML format. You have to manually click on HTML. You can try and book mark but guess what you are limited to 2 or 3 book marks. Not sure if this is the same on the Ocean but the Finn is a joke.

Use your trial period to carefully test all of the functions on your phone. You will find out the web is not easy to access most pages because the browser, the most important aspect of the ...

Helio is most likely going down. I had a couple of helio stores and closed them. I also know of at least 20 other agents that have had to close there stores. Helio seemed like they were doing good in early 2007 but everything in going down hill. there used to be 15-20 helio stored in my state now there are only 5. every since they sent there customer service to the phillipens there has been nothing but problems.

hellowireless1 whether Helio goes down or not I can't tell you for sure, its still too early to tell. I know a few things though having their customer service transfer to the Philippines is not one of the reasons. It is actually a big step up from their previous call centers.

I have no clue what happened to your stores but Im betting you had to shut them down due to chargebacks. Chargebacks are the number one killer for any wireless business. Its also sucks that there are less Helio stores in your state, but it also opens the door less competition means more market share.

Like what Rich said, Helio understands the demands of what it takes to go up against big tier 1 carriers. Their attempts at investing 5 billion into Sprint and changi...

Most national MVNOs that have gone under did not have a remotely realistic concept of what it would take to make it work.

If you expect to compete with Tier 1 national carriers - even in a niche market segment - it takes time and money... LOTS of time and money. If you're not prepared to invest hundreds of millions and wait at least five years to see a return, you shouldn't even try.

Other MVNOs didn't understand that. So far, Helio is the only major MVNO that DOES seem to understand that. That's what sets them apart.

Don't get me wrong: I have no idea if they will make it or not. But so far they seem to be on the right track. I think they do stand a serious chance of making it work.

At the very least, it would be a mistake to as...

"So far, Helio is the only major MVNO that DOES seem to understand that. That's what sets them apart."

Actually Virgin is. They are doing fairly well, especially in Canada (and I'm sure in Europe).

I know a few executives from Helio, who got recruited from TELUS Mobility in Canada. Most of them have already come back, shaking their heads at what a failure HELIO has been.
