Seems Like a Waste of Time
I currently have the Q and am very happy with it but it is over a year old and is starting to freeze a little bit every few days. I was waiting to upgrade to this phone but it does not really seem like an upgrade other than going from Windows Mobile 5.0 to 6.0. It does not have Wifi and does not appear to be upgradeable to EVDO Rev. A. Plus, I am eligible for an upgrade but not new every 2 so the phone would be $349.99 and there was no online discount available to me - it may only be available to new customers as Verizon always tries to give better deals to new subscribers instead of loyal customers who have been with them for about 7 years. I am just disappointed because it just does not appear to be worth it to upgrade to this phone fr...

dude upgrading customers ALWAYS get the better deal. Geez just call customer care. plus if you didn't know, at our corporate stores you can almost always get a one year upgrade instead for the same price.

I know that I can call customer care or go into a store and cut a better deal but at the end of the day it would still be about $200 for a slightly bigger, slightly heavier Q that is not upgradeable to EVDO Rev. A and does not have Wifi. While that SDIO Wifi Card may work it will drain the battery but that is not really a problem as I am not as concerned about the Wifi as my laptop already has Wifi. When I am out of the office I occasionally use my Q as a modem for my laptop and would like the EVDO Rev. A to be able to have a faster connection. It looks like the 2 new HTC phones allegedly coming to Verizon, the Fusion and the Mogul, will both be upgradeable to Rev. A and the new Samsung may be too. Basically, it does not make sense to me...

i agree, i personally hate windows mobile 5 and 6. I so much more prefer Nokias s60 OS they put on phones. You can do so much more.

Well the mini sd card supports SDIO and now has enough power to power a minisdio Wifi card or the new minisdio GPS reciever cards unlike the original Q

joey--baby cmon they don't giveloyal customers a break your out of your mind!! now you can upgrade every 20 months and get 100 buks off if you have a plan 79.99 or higher and 50 bucks off 79.98 or lower. also if you are a "vip" customer you can get an upgrade in 12 months and get $50 off!!! so quite whining that loyal customers dont get anything!!

As both a past Q owner and most recently a 9m owner I can agree with most everything you have said. The resident color color schemes are not consistent with the typical business user in my mind...they should be more muted. The red band does not appeal to me but the idea of a metal surround does. The red fuction keys are very difficult to read althought the black keys with white lettering is much more readable than the origianl Q. The 9m does support WIFI with a card by at this point no one offers a WIFI card with resident memory so that is not a useful option, the WIFI should heve been hard wired for it to be useful. The 9m does not offer enough to make the move.
I recently had the opportunity to play with the iPhone and I believe th...
