EVDO and your battery

I've now had my Gleam for 2 weeks and have grown to love it even more. However, I noticed that the battery drained MUCH more quickly outside of the city, something that didn't happen as noticably with my old phone. I then noticed that I was getting no EVDO service and assumed it's burning through the battery searching (I never use this service anyways).

Here's how to disable EVDO on Samsung phones:

1. Go to Settings and Tools and press #
2. Enter the passcode of 000000
3. Go to HDR Settings -> Pref Mode and select CDMA Data Only.

Serenata

Wow, what a mess of a phone...it should be called the Serecaca...😳

Most luxury hotels these days (at least all the ones I've stayed in) include an ipod music dock (iHome) in their rooms...

I guess this phone is for low level executives who want to walk around with a phone that looks like a ladies shaver.

Gleam

The Gleam is a beautiful phone; pictures don't do it justice. Those who like the Razr form-factor, especially the pink Razr V3C/M's shiny metal keypad, will likely also be delighted with the Gleam's slim shininess. Kudos to Samsung for this aesthetically pleasing handset.

Totally Locked Up!

I got my Gleam Friday night and activated it about 7:00am Saturday morning. I used it for some calls, messages, took pictures, downloaded a VCAST Music song and saved a PIX Message sound as a ringtone. Wonderful!

Then at 9:43am I noticed the display still said 9:40am. Keypad unresponsive. Hmmm. Frozen I thoguht....

Took out the battery, waited 10 seconds, replaced, powered on... Got to the VCAST screen with the progress bar on the bottom and NOTHING! No menu, no keypad, nothing. Only way to power off was to remove the battery. Waited an hour and got the same results. Anyone else?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I am up for my new any two and was seriously considering this phone. But after reading other reviews it worries me that there is no back-up assistant. Is this issue getting fixed? Also, overall is it worth it to chose this phone. My current phone is the LG 8300. Thanks a lot everyone.

Question about Stereo Speakers

This phone is touted as having Stereo Speakers. After seeing several pix of this phone (not actually seeing it in person) I didnt see any stereo speakers. Exactly where are they located on the piece?

Gracias

YAY!! FIRST TO POST!!! Now where did this phone come from??

Wow... where did this phone come from??? With all the anticipation for the Samsung i760 and the 4 phones unveiled earlier this week, PLUS the Moto RIZR, this phone must have flown beneath everyone's radar b/c I certainly wasn't aware of it until today.
