Can you use the iPhone in other countries like other sim card phones?

yes, be sure to get the international data plan if you plan on more than doing calls. put it on airplane mode or just turn off your email if not. iPhone International Data gives you 20Mbs of international data in addition to your already unlimited domestic use, cost is $24.99, and you have to keep it for a year or $175 ETF.

ye be warned!

I think he's asking if you can use oversea sim cards too. If he is: No. If he isn't. Sorry.

So yeah, I wanted to use an oversea sim card so I guess not. But the international call plan would let me use my # in another country right? So that would be an extra $25 plus the 59.99 iPhone plan if I am correct?

yes: and may I remind you, the calling rates overseas are astronomical, even with the $25 dollar plan. Supposedly, sometime in the next week, a software hack will unlock the iPhone will be made available to the public for free. I suggest that before forking over tons of money a month. Unless you're terribly wealthy.

So there's going to be a hack so that you can use an iPhone unlocked on another carrier that uses SIM Cards like T-Mobile? That would be super sweet bro.

yeah, and bear in mind that $24.99 doesn't include voice calls. for that you'd need the World Traveler feature.... unless you're inclined to attempt that hack.

That hack sounds hot. I'm going to switch over to T-Mobile and use their Blackberry Internet Plan. I just wonder if Apple will release an update to stop the hack b/c the update that Apple sent out actually is helping out with the hack by adding some menu functions that are useful to the hackers.

I heard that the hack is update proof, and that you can totally factory reset your iPhone, and the HACK STAYS! It's a software hack. I listen to the TWiT podcast. The latest one explains all about the new "unlocked" iPhone.

We're FREE!

And if an update DOES detect and destroy, how long will it take the hackers to fix it? A month, at the most.

Just don't allow iTunes to update your iPhone. You have that feature.

I do not believe that a blackberry plan will be compatible with the iPhone - incompatible OS
