Anyone Switch from a Razr?
I am currently a Razr owner considering moving to this new Sammy. I had a Samsung (a530) prior to owning my Razr and was very happy with it. Just looking for some insight from people who have owned both phones. Thanks in advance!

yes, I had the pink razr with Verizon Wireless. The reception was very good in my area (Southern VA), but the battery live had just gotten absolutely ridiculous in the past few months. I was charging it everyday even if I didn't use the phone, twice a day if I did. The user interface was slow from the first day I got it... but that's a Motorola issue. Every Moto phone I've used has been slow. I tried out the Moto Q, but was extremely disappointed. There were many things I loved about the phone, but more that I hated about it. I LOVE this Samsung. I'm not crazy about the color (like most), but it's totally worth it to have a decent phone. I love that you're not stuck with Verizon's red bars. Verizon seems to be getting away from that issue. Thanks for the response Audrey! Like I said I had a Samsung before my Moto so I am fairly confident going into the upgrade. I HATE the slow menus with the Moto - are they instant with the 740? Do you use it to text? How hard was it to get used to the keyboard? I am about a 50/50 call/text user, so I thought this would be a perfect phone for me. As far as the color, I am going to get the black one, so I do not need worry about that.

I don't text a lot, but I use it at least a couple times a week. Even with the smaller keys, it's still easier to have a QWERTY keyboard than using the crappy predictive text or whatever. I don't really have a problem with the keyboard. And I'm sure the more you use it, the easier it gets and the quicker you can type.

Oh yeah, there's also the voice to text mode (Voice Mode). Now THAT's a pain. I don't text enough to spend the time perfecting that method.

This phone is awesome. I'v had more than one Razr, and currently use a Razr for my business cellphone. I've also just switched from Cingular to Verizon. I'm TOTALLY impressed with both the company (the Network!) and the phone. The only issue I've had, and I even had the phone replaced, which didn't help.. was the bluetooth reception isn't great. I find that the closer the phone is to the headset (like in the front pocket on the same side of your body that the earpiece is) gets the best reception.
As a matter of fact, I'm going to post a question to the group regarding that.
Overall, this phone FAR surpasses the Razr.
