Disappointed

I just picked up the V710 at my local Verizon Store, and I'm very disappointed. The phone seems very fragile and is certainly going to get all scratched up - if not broken - in a few weeks. The keyboard is strange and somewhat awkward. I have a bluetooth car kit built into the sound system in my car, and the bluetooth works intermittently. Sometimes it will connect with the phone and sometimes it won't. The sound quality that comes through my car sterio speakers when it works sounds terrible. My old Samsung phone car kit with the single little speaker sounded much better. The final straw was when I had my son call me on my home phone from the car using the V710. The sound quality was aweful. He wasn't even using the bluetooth beca...

Bluetooth probably didn't work because you didn't sync it correctly or set it up first. My 710 works fine EVERYTIME...and sounds great...My only complaint is not being able to delete the gay pictures that are on the phone and the 2 mp3 tones wasting my precious space. your post sounds a little bitchy. for one, they are fragile, sensitive electronics all phones are some what fragile, all phones will scratch easily. you might want to try not dropping it. (yes i know we all drop them sometimes)....Get that film that goes on a PDA screen and custom cut it out for the front of your phone like i do (and some for my inside screen) and I bet your phone looks brand new in a year. it protects very well and is always replaceable.....no matter wh...

Wow, I didn't realize that anyone would take such personal offense to comments about a phone. Perhaps you should look for some other interests in your life other than this forum to help you lighten up a little.

Wow what's wrong with dmx11523? Chill out guys. Honestly, I don't trust anything branded with the Verizon logo. Whoever has the V710, i bet you guys can't send a simple pic or sound in and out the v710 via bluetooth. I highly don't recommend verizon. I've read articles on how Verizon has stunted the V710's capabilities via bluetooth. So i can justify with rhanson's bluetooth problems with his car stereo. I've had the V710 from verizon... it's early 2004 technology to me.

is your car kit aftermarket or factory installed? If it's aftermarket you'll need to check one or two things.

A.) is it fully compatible with your car's stereo system?

B.) is it installed correctly?

C.) even though the most recent issues of BT are supposed to cut down on the need for "pairing" you may still have to pair your phone with your car kit to get optimal call quality. Try it, you've got nothing to lose.

As far as the non-car kit call quality, calls almost always suck from the car in my experience. It's kinda hard for a phone to pin down a good signal when you're driving sometimes, this may have been the case. And for the phone not being rugged enough, they're not tanks, they're not supposed to be. Just be a little m...
