missed calls / messages
this is annoying: if i miss a call and someone leaves me a message, my phone does not tell me i have a message until i flip it open. is there a setting i don't know about where the phone will tell me that i have a message without having to do this?

... meaning that when the phone has been sitting there unused for a while it looks like the phone is off. i'm not too fond of this 'feature' as it prevents me from knowing whether or not i have a message unless i pick the phone up, press a button, flip it open, or whatever....
