I need an alternative method to charge vx6100 battery
I have an LG VX6100 and recently the charger port on the phone has broke. The phone works but I no longer have a way to recharge the battery. No insurance on the phone. I need an idea on how I can make or purchase a "desktop" style charger for this phone so I can recharge the battery while it is disconnected from the phone. Also if someone has a broken VX6100 that still charges the battery I would be intersted in it.

They make a charger just for the battery now, runs about $25 bucks, call customer service it can be ordered.

Now I have a new problem... I was able to get the battery charged up and now the phone gives me an error message saying " please use oem battery" and then it powers off. IT IS the oem battery.

Listen this is what you do. Find a Verizon coporate store... NOT a verizon authoized dealer, they won't do jack for you. Take your phone to the store and tell them that you're having charging issues with your phone and that you need to have your handset FRUed out. If you have the guys FRU (pronounced frew) your phone out, they will take you old handset, give you a shiny new reurbished model, and even switch over your phone book FOR FREE. usually you don't have to give them any other information accept your cell phone number. just make sure you back all your pictures up or any other stuff you wanna keep like planbook stuff. get it now purchases will be gone also so you have to call a number to get recredited.
