I happened to be interested & tested this today in a Sprint Store. I recorded a voice memo, went to the address book, and looked for a way to set the memo as the ring. Results:
Yes! - LG VI-125
No - - Sanyo PM-8200
No - - Samsung PM-a740
I am 90% sure of the "No's." I did not consult the owners manuals.
This feature seems *very* nice to me-- you could record speech, whistling, the person's voice, any clip you have on CD or computer, etc. etc. Reminder, limit of 30 voice memos, totalling 3 minutes. It is one of the things I like about the LG VI-125 as phone which does the basics well (I am considering getting it).
