CAP

(Common Audio Profile)

A core, low-level Bluetooth profile that enables LE Audio, the newer standard for all kinds of audio over Bluetooth wireless connections.

See: LE Audio

CAP works hand-in-hand with BAP (Basic Audio Profile) to implement LE Audio. A phone must support Bluetooth 5.2 (or newer), BAP, and CAP to use LE Audio, including new features such as broadcast (one-to-many) audio services. A number of other profiles are also required for LE Audio to function.

See: BAP
