IP stands for "Internet Protocol".

A standard protocol designed for use in interconnected systems of packet-switched digital communication networks.

It is a low-level networking standard that is the basis of the Internet, as well as 4G and 5G wireless networks.

IP can also stand for Ingress Protection or International Protection, a rating for protection against dust and water.

IP can also stand for Intellectual Property, meaning ideas that can be owned and protected with copyright, trademark, or a patent.
