MVNE

Mobile Virtual Network Enabler

A behind-the-scenes company that provides turnkey services for companies wishing to become MVNOs quickly and easily, with relatively little initial investment.

See: MVNO

Although starting an MVNO from scratch does not require building a wireless network, without an MVNE, it still requires building a billing system, setting up customer service, etc.

MVNEs remove that hurdle by handling billing and customer service. Therefore a company wishing to become an MVNO can simply contract with an MVNE, and only have to worry about selling their own branded cell phone service.
