Macro

1. In cameras and camera phones, macro means close, and "macro mode" adjusts the lens to focus on something close to the lens (typically less than 2 feet away). Without macro mode, objects that close would appear out-of-focus.

2. A macro can also be a programmable command that performs a series of actions that need to be performed often. With a macro, one command will initiate a series of actions that would otherwise require many steps.
