I have a few thousand dollars to invest....but I just don't feel like Sprint is a good investment....if I thought they had a chance to repay the money I might buy a few...

Who knows...maybe in a few years Google will buy a carrier and re-brand it... At least we can hope that it won't be VZW or AT&T who tries to take over Sprint.

Jarahawk, I really really like that idea. Google buying a company like Sprint, or T-Mobile would change the industry like crazy. Who knows if it would ever happen. But if Google owned a carrier network (sprint or t-mobile) and a handset company (motorola) and offered free or significantly discounted service by way of advertising on calls instead of dial tones, the internet, on text message templates, who knows what could happen....

You've got a point there, even in a bankruptcy settlement they'd no doubt have to find a way to honor that commitment....

Imagine Google bought out Sprint, and then Apple felt pressure to follow and bought T-Mobile or something like that. Craziness. I'm sure it would never happen. But you're right, AT&T and Verizon would be losing their minds.
