Buying a phone in the US and using it in New Zealand

Hi there, I'm pretty new at this so i need a lot of help. What i wanted to know is this:
I want to buy a Motorola V710 from the US and ship it to NZ, for starters, besides ebay where else can i do this? secondly will verizon have got their hands on it to disable some functions as i want all BT functions? Im pretty sure Telecom is CDMA so both should be compatible correct?

yeah it's cdma but it might cause u some head aches in the end and will be a waste of money
get an unlocked quad band gsm phone
i know they got wodophone in NZ so there's gsm coverage
...
