Will the Motorola V600 come out for Verizon Wireless?

Nov 11, 2003, 10:03 PM
The V600 just came out for AT&T Wireless (as it is a GSM quad band world phone). Of course Verizon has no GSM service and no plans to switch to one, but will they make a CDMA version of the V600? They already have the body of the phone (and it appears to be one of, if not, THE best new phone on the market) so I really hope they put a version out for the largest and most popular wireless provider in the United States. Just wondering if anyone knew of anything.

The short answer is no. Sad

The slightly longer answer is that the V600 is a GSM phone, and Verizon is CDMA. In contrast to past Motorola strategy, newer Motorola phones are likely to differ greatly between GSM and CDMA.

The good news is that different doesn't mean inferior. In fact, the phone you should be looking forward to is the V810, a CDMA phone that is smaller than, and in many ways superior to, the V600. Very Happy
