rumor has it that alltel may go to a flat rate and charge only for the extras...ull get unlimited minutes , just pay for text and axcess and insurance and so on...if u know more please post it.....

If they're looking to sell I wouldn't be surprised if they do that. It'll puff up their numbers and increase their market value because of an inflated customer base.

Did they ever! I was doing customer care for AT&T wireless at the time, we offered those people EVERYTHING! It was nuts.

I remember those days MrAbstracto. LOL! I was still with AT&T Wireless as one of their Wireless Communications Specialists (same thing as a Sprint Nextel Retail Communications Consultant) when they introduced GSM/GPRS and as an enticer for TDMA subscribers, offered The GSM America Plan for $99.99 per month for unlimited voice calling and mMode provided you signed a 2 year contract. The only downfall at the time of the GSM/GPRS launch was the fact 850 MHz roaming wasn't available and there were only 3 handsets I believe at launch.
Funny thing is the $99.99 GSM America Plan was only suppose to be a promotional plan for the life of the contract at which point it would revert to 1400 peak minutes with unlimited nights and weekends for fre...

Here and there I get some customers from old AT&T contracts with some crazy plans. They are free to keep renewing them.
