First, I apologize if this has been already ask. I tried to find answer here, but too many entrys...I am trying to move my firm into 21 century. I want a phone (primarily) with ability to get (and hopefully send) e mails from my office which uses outlook express and microsoft server. We may have just 4 or 5 people to use to start and maybe a few more as we adopt. I am looking at blackberrys or trios ( or suggestion). Which is best for reading e mails with sometimes large document attachments? In addition, which carrier. I live in LA area, but travel a lot to NY, Boston, SF and Chicago. Phone coverage is important. Verizon's choice of phones is limited. I like T Mobile's selection and prices, but worried about coverage. My office MAY (i...

Blackberrry is the way to go. It can read and open Word, Excel and P documents and pdf's If you want to have your emails in real time, have the company spring for the BES (blackBerry enterprise Server). This will get the emails to your users instantly. Using the Desktop redirector is another option, this is for companies that have an Exchange server and host their own mail but do not want to buy the BES. Only problem is that the desktop PC's must be left on and and connected to the internet for the emails to push through, not as fast or secure. Not practical if have laptop or virtual employees. You might want to consider Nextel as they have some promotional prices on the BES when you buy 5 units and 5 licenses.
As for the TREO, the...

I am trying to decide whether or not to get a Treo or new Blackberry. The biggest question I have is can I get all my palm info on to the blackberry 7000t..including memos and other apps?

Thanks!

Anxiously waiting to buy my C-mas present.

I like the black berry with the bes server it is the best for emailing the easiset to use. you can also use a palm treo with the good server to do the same thing as the bes. most bus and government use black berry eaiser to use better battery life and the ability if the blackberry is lost IT can delete all info on that blackberyy through the bes. you can e-mail me on it jason.prince@cingular.com

Way better coverage is right. SBC, Cingular's parent company just signed on for 800 lines of Blackberry use in CA area with Verizon Wireless. Funny eh?

Keep in mind voice coverage does not gurantee data coverage - which is required for Blackberry service. CDMA has an 1X data overlay and GSM has a GPRS overlay. TMobile Blackberry service, for example, does not work in Jacksonhole, WY. Tmo is roaming on Western Wireless and voice is provided but not data. Same is true for Verizon in eastern UT. Of course this will vary from state to state.

yes, i find that very hilarious!

if you want to stay with verizon you will probably want to go with the treo, the blackberry 7750 does not access internet and has some limited capabilities. although i think there is a new one coming out soon that fixes this issue. Verizon also has the treo the cheapest out of all the carriers. under 300 bucks!
