Anyone wonder about the economics of certain carriers dropping prices for the holidays and others jacking them?

It's not economics, it's accountants. Our company was planning a big promotion (for the last 6 months) for Christmas. Then Verizon's Christmas promotions came out and matched our current promotion, so they decided not to run the promotion. They said it wasn't necessary to compete, but I thought it would have boosted our sales, but I'm not an accountant.
