I am currently a T-mobile customer and looking to switch. I want to get the razor phone and I am checking out www.wirefly.com where I can get one for free w/ both VZ or Cingular. My company offers a corperate discount on service plans. Afer checking VZ was higher but only by a 2dollar difference. I've never had cingular but used to be w/ At&t b4 they merged. I did have verizon but it was back in 2000, a lot has changed since then im sure. Please help me make the right choice as they lock you in for 2 years now. 😳

My advice is to go to a store and get your phone. I can't tell you how many times someone has come in complaining about how they never got their rebates from 3rd party online sites, or they get a bum phone online and want us to swap it out (which we can't). Part of the price you pay instore goes to paying the sales associate, what benefit is it to a store (save a car charger or case you "might" buy down the line) when you buy online then come to them with all your problems?

Well honestly I wasn't considering the problem factor of the phone. If there were a problem I wouldn't take it to the dealer as they normally can't do anything about it unless you orginally purchased it from them and it is w/in the 30 trial period. I have worked in customer service for T-mobile, so I know delears don't have anything to do w/ phone malfunctions. I am asking advice more so for coverage areas/reception/call quality and so forth. But I appreciate the heads up about mail order and the rebates.

To be honest I would go for verizon the coverage area is so much better and they are just all together a good company..
Another reason Id say to do verizon is because if you want the Razor, remember that it is still different between the two companies. Verizons Razor is better..it holds more, runs faster and has some better features. You can see this yourself I believe with this site..compare the two phones..verizons razor to cingular. I just recently had a test on the two and the differences that is how I know this.

You know.. I don't know if this matters much but you can sign a 1 year agreement if you want to and go to the motorola website and get a customized razor built for verizon or any other carrier. Meaning any color, etc you want. You will have to pay a pretty penny but that would still keep you eligable for an upgrade at anytime and your not set for 2 years.
As far as not paying anything yea do the 2 year thing but we really need to know where you live and where you travel if anyplace to give you a good idea on coverage areas. You could live in say alaska and be asking whats the coverage area for verizon.. well alaska is not very good so the claim that verizon has a good coverage area is void up there because its 99.8% extended network.

I live in the Nashville, TN market, and travel down S tn in the rual areas to visit the family. Also sometimes travel to panama city beach to my condo. Any other travel would be done to any major market where I wouldn't have a problem. Those other areas are spots in question.

No I haven't even thought about them. I have heard too many horror stories.

Seriously consider Sprint Nextel Inc. as they have a 30 day risk free trial period with them.

Verizon by far has the better Razr phone. Cingular finally got the V3i only problem is its outdated from the start. The V3i doesnt have any GPS built into the phone, its very hard to hear on you have to move the ear piece around on your ear just right to hear at all, it doesnt even have voice record. The V3m is nice and loud, has GPS plus VZ Navigator, the best little tool to ever land on a cell phone. Cingular is at least a year behind verizon in every way shape and form..period.

who had the razr first again cause i cant remember? 🙄

I have heard just the opposite about VZ rzr's b/c of the UI they decided to use their own's instead of moterola. GPS is nice yes but i don't travel. I am just looking for sound quality/clarity as well as reception. I don't need media player or itunes to run down my battery life. Besides more things on a phone, more things to go wrong.

Hmm.. VZ Navigator or TeleNav? I'll go with the program made by a company that deals with GPS navigation.

I have heard VZ's platform has caused a lot of troubles.. in the first rzrs. Gps is nice. But wouldn't use it
