Cingular 3G in Kansas City

I'm interested in the new LG CU500. It's only available in the cities with 3G. Does anyone know when the metro Kansas City area will carry the LG CU500? Also, if I bought it online, would there be any problems using it before 3G arrives in Kansas City or would it be wise to wait.
