CDM-9500

I just switched my cell phone carrier and I bought a new phone, the toshiba CDM-9500. I bought this phone because it is supposed to give phone numbers of unlisted numbers on the caller ID instead of saying restricked or unlisted. How do I make this happen? Thanks for any help you can give me.

It's supposed to give "unlisted and restricted" numbers? Does it have a built in ray gun as well?

Who told you that?!? Either you were lied to or you misunderstood what was said. 😳

From my understanding of wireline switches, if a number is unlisted, it's unlisted & the info never makes it to the MSC (the mobile carriers switch).

Ok, well thanks for the info. I'm gonna keep searching before I give up. That sure would be a nice feature to have.

It's a feature that would annoy a lot of people. Fortunately, it does not exist. I suspect you were sold a bill of goods, along with your phone.

If you paid money for this feature, and have something in writing stating it exists, you may have grounds for a court case.

I have owned the Audiovox CDM-9500 for (2) years and never, never did it do that. But I do like the feature where when you aim it at the sky with the antena extended, the phone will generate a Thunderstorm. 🤣

That is the longest ANT I ever saw. You can use it as a weapon if need be.

Crap, that's funny, but I think I had this guy in my store the other day. I couldn't understand a damn thing he was saying. I think he wanted CracFone minutes, which we don't sell.

I am a former employee of Verizon Wireless and I am positive that this feature does not exist.

It's not possible to do that from the phone's side. There are two scenarios. 1: someone has their caller id blocked. That means the caller information is there but carriers are required not to send it. This can only be bypassed at the switch and it's illegal for a carrier to doso.
The other possibility is the phone is coming from a call center or corporation or other such organization in which case the phones all route out at the same point so no caller id info is sent at all which means you can't even bypass it at the switch. Either way, you can't control it from your phone.

How's this for call blocking:

My friend left his cell phone at my house one time. I when into the phone book and changed a few numbers to read "Unlisted", "Private", "Anonymous", etc.. instead of the name.
