AT&T Smartphones????

Does Apple have an exclusivity negotiated with AT&T? It seems like the iPhone is their only decent "flagship" device. Everything else is either 2nd-tier or has been out for awhile.

Will I get to spend my money on a hot new smartphone anytime soon? Does anyone out there have the scoop?

yes at&t and apple have exclusive rights to the iphone and its not sold on any other network.

We are coming out sometime this fall with the new blackberry bold that is gonna be a very nice new PDA from blackberry. its a little bigger than the curve but not by much they have added WI-FI to it now and video capture to it. will hold a lot of info on the phone but will now also be able to hold up to a 16GB memory card!!

Dates and prices i have not seen yet but it is gonna be worth the wait till it arrives

I believe there was a time limit set for releasing new devices. I think September 1 that time limit ends and you should see a nice release of phones.

I hope September 1st is when that limit ends...I'm not an iPhone person, and I refuse to become another Crackberry fanatic. The Thunder has my attention, though! I think there are better smartphones on the horizon...Samsung Omnia, Sony XPeria, etc.

Someone needs to finally release a speedy Windows Mobile-based device...that's what I'm hoping for, as it would work best with my office database.

It's obvious to me that AT&T worked out a deal with Apple...otherwise they're lagging behind every other carrier with smartphone releases.

Thanks for all the replies!

Wow, from most of the threads on this site, you'd think Verizon was the only carrier not launching new equipment every other week... what's up here with AT&T?
