TV Remote for the 3g Iphone
Is there any software to make the 3G Iphone so that it will work as a tv remote also?

I don't believe the iphone has an IR port. So it wouldn't be possible because normal tv remotes use IR to send the signal to the tv.

No. It does not have infrared hardware like a universal remote.
It can control iTunes over a WiFi network, but that's it. It can generally only connect to a computer over a network, not other types of consumer electronics (unless the device in question is also connected to the home network, and someone comes out with special iPhone software specifically to control that device.)
