Blackberry Thunder......disappointed!!!

The fact that Verizon has exclusive rights to the next Blackberry (Thunder) has got me seriously considering Verizon. But their prices will probably keep me at Sprint. This makes me more mad at Blackberry than anything. I mean did they not learn anything from Apple? Exclusive rights on a phone as popular as the Iphone should have taught them something about business tactics. I know the iphone sold like crazy but imagine if they made it for all carriers like Blackberry usually does, they would have easily doubled their sales.

Now I know how people on here are so......
The answer to your question is yes, if Sprint had exclusive rights to this phone I would have been ecstatic, I obviously have Sprint. The fact that phone company's st...

Why should Blackberry care if Verizon has it exclusively? They are selling their product regardless. Verizon will pay them, not you (the customer). You see this all the time w/ colors of phones and other industries (shoes) if it didn't work out for the manufacturer, I'm sure they wouldn't do it.

and from what I've heard, VZW will only keep exclusivity if they hit certain sales targets.

One would think there will be a GSM variant for the Canadian market and thus most likely a unlocked version that would be quad band.

There will be a GSM variant for Vodaphone. VZW and Vodaphone are supposed to have an exclusivity agreement for the Thunder. So glad i have VZW, this phone will be mine!!! 😁

Another thing to remember is that this phone will be a Verizon/Vodaphone exclusive. Voda has apx 260M customers worldwide and when you combine that with VZW’s current 67M or potential 80+ million, that’s a lot of market share. Should not have a problem making quotas… Also, this phone will more than likely be a global phone due to the fact that the two companies do not share the same technology.

Another port in... heh.

Yes, sprint is cheaper than VZW. However, if you look at the coverage, and... I hate to drag this out because all the carriers have skeletons in thier closets, but sprint's customer service is goddamn awful. It's almost a crime against humanity.

All an exclusive device means is that it will be renamed and released 6 months later for everyone else... That is, if they haven't already got the Blackberry Lightning or the Blackberry Tornado already planned for AT&T and Sprextel

Well...the instinct is technically exclusive to sprint, and verizon pricing on handsets AS WELL as phones should keep you thinkin yellow. The palm centro is touch, as Rev 0 (albeit not the best sprint has to offer, its still pretty kick-ass) and has thousands of more applications then blackberry AND winmo...I think it's no contest. But I do agree with you about business tactics. I think it's stupid to make phones exclusive, but there's really nothing we can do as consumers, or as employees. Also exclusive rights only last so long...the centro was exclusive to sprint, and so was the touch, months later Vzw has them, and I guarintee, they're gonna mess with it and piss everyone off. Once again, all they have is thier network, and it's only voi...

no harm ever came from positive thinking. They are making the correct steps to get them out of the hole that they're in. Rev a, and hopefully WiMax soon, we should be snug as a bug. it's the haters and the negative thinking that destroys people. bandwagon jumpers who wanna hate on sprint because it's the thing to do are the ones who need to cool yer jets

I disagree with Triste. Sprint's customer service is horrible; and their data stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be. I use VZW and have business associates that I travel with on a regular basis who use Sprextel and VZW, and once and a while we'll compare speeds and stuff just for fun, and VZW has always come out on top using comperable (an...

Not to mention that VZW's had Rev A for a couple years now...it's nothing new or exciting anymore...

Personally, I very much prefer VZW over sprint. I travel a lot, and some of my business associates use Sprint and ATT, and I've always had coverage where they don't. Plus, you should check into VZW's discounts for whoever you(or your wife) works for. They have discounts for TONS of companies out there, which can make their prices much more competitive. Their discounts can range from 6-20% or more from what I understand, and you can roll unlimited texting into the plan and get the discount on that as well, rather than only on the plan and paying full price for the feature. Just a thought...

Sprint has just as many discounts as VZW, and I'm sure there are more and at a larger discount going past 30% for some. When it comes to reception and service, that's anywhere for anyone.

I currently have VZW and hate it because I am spending too much money for what little I receive. Sprint's new Simple Everything plans are killer. Unlimited Message and Data for two line and 1500 minutes--$129.99...That's cake. I pay more for two lines, no data, only unlimited text and pay 130, with a discount.

That may be true, but how many minutes do you get currently? VZW's family plan for 1400 minutes with unlimited messaging (no data) is 120 BEFORE discount. I'm sure each carrier gives M2M also included for free, so thats probably a factor also as to who you know uses what network.
