"Just announced, Sprint is using it's remaining capitol originally intended to help launch their WiMax and QChat technologies to buy the regional service provider Alltel. Sprint (NYSE: S) CEO Dan Hesse was quoted saying "If we are going to go down... we are taking Chad with us." The Merrill Lynch investment analyst thinktank was quoted later as saying "Based on our information we believe that if T-Mobile did purchase Sprint post the Alltel purchase that they could in fact afford to consume both companies and likely benefit from the merger offering their customer's a more diversified set of offerings."
