Phones in Hollywood/ marketing placement in films
Just out of curiosity when you go to the movies do you ever try to identify the phones you see on the screen? For instance even though you only see the face twice through the whole movie did you notice that Brad Pitt's character in Oceans twelve used the Siemens S66 and Danny Ocean used the SL66? I know that phones are making appearances in major motion pictures, and being a realist I realize the company's making these phones are paying a lot of money for these phones to be in movies, but do you think it's doing anything for the market? Also I was hoping you might list other phones you've seen in other movies. Just wondering.

I have seen Nextel phones on CSI, CSI Mimai but i havent noticed what they are useing in CSI new york!! The most noticible are the phones i830 in the original CSI!!

The music video for "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas, has a Motorola A630 in it. They are taking a picture on it.

How about the movie "Cellular" the one that had michelle pheiffer and the guy from transporter. that was the Nokia 6600 featured all the way through the film. i've never seen a phone used like that in a movie.

haha it was actually really well done. some of the stuff in it kinda makes your eyes roll. he has to stay on the phone with this lady and has all these problems trying to hold the call for so long... almost loosing the signal, battery almost dying, and the stupidest one, a guy's conversation crossed over on other guys call in the car next to him. never once have i heard of that. the second charlies angels depicted the angels using sony ericsons with mass cingular logos. that had to cost.

umm yeah, I think they are helping the market.. Look at the phone useing in Matrix Reloaded.. That samsung goes for well over $500 on Ebay! And phone that are used in Rap videos usually get purchased alot too! The bigegest failure I saw on Product placement though was Sprint when they put the Sanyo 6400 (that thin phone) on MIB2. That phone BOMBED bad! I think had it been a color screen it would have done better.
