Nokia 6200 from cingular has some settings blocked out!!!

the AT&T version of this phone, has "System Selection" a option to manuly search for service, or to place it on automatic..

anyway the cingular version does not have it, and I just spoke to NOKIA and was told that CINGULAR BLOCKED OUT THOSE SETTINGS

so does anybody know of a way to change that, and to be able to pick other carriers,

so far where I am, even in the OFFICIAL dead spots (cingular acknowledged it themselves) since its in and around a city, where cingular does have coverage, I am picking up 0-1 bar of service, and still does not search for another carrier (AT&T GSM has full service there)

from the way NOKIA put it, ("CINGULAR BLOCKED OUT THOSE SETTINGS OF SYSTEM SELECTION...") sounds like, this plan of free roaming i...

CDM8900 voice message

I just purchased the CDM8900 picture phone and am trying to send a picture to my PC with the audio messaging. My PC receives email with the picture along with the audio (.qcp) file. However, when I try to open the .qcp attachment it says my PC doesn't have a program associated with it. It tells me to go to MY COMPUTER, select VIEW, then FOLDER OPTIONS. What should I do from there? Which program processes .qcp files ?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Nokia 6200 (from Cingular)

is there anyway to change the settings on the 6200 to get more service, or change networks,
b/c my phone only picks up Cingular, which has no service in the area (even though AT&T has GSM towers all over the area)

(on the at&t version of this phone, there is the option of changing networks, but the cingular version does not have it)

so does anybody know any codes that could add to my reception, (like changing networks...)

I didn't know which bit of the forum this should be in, so I've posted it in two parts - sorry if I got it wrong. Anyway, I read on Gizmodo about Toothing ( http://toothing.blogspot.com ), and I was wondering whether it existed in the US? Has anyone had any toothing experience? The toothing forums seem quite busy, but it also seems to be quite a British thing.

Is there a phone that has a built-in mp3 player?

I don't want one where I can connect an mp3 player to the phone.
I don't need the built-in camera and video games?
If there is such a phone, can it work with Apple Macs so I can upload mp3 songs to the phone?

Has Anyone Ever Bought a Telephone Chip Abroad

My question about setting up a GSM telephone abroad is still active, but no one has answered.
So I will ask the question differently:

-Has anyone here ever bought a GSM chip abroad for a USA 900/1800/1900 telephone?
-If so, how much did it cost?
-How were you billed or did you get prepaid calls?

Thank you.

8k Nokia 7600's per week in Carphone!

8,000 plus connections a week, this annihilates the previous Carphone weekly record. The best they have ever done is 2,300 connections and that was way back in last summer.

Just goes to show the power of the device, once 3 have compelling devices across all channels the other operators will be panicking like mad

Anyone know when the first mega pixel camera phones will be coming out in the USA? I don't mean giant PDA phones, just regular normal sized phones. Will any of them have MP3 playback or ring tones? What carriers will have them? Thanks,
