Does anyone have the 411 about when Alltel will be adding EV-DO in Lynchburg, VA, I heard rumors that is might be before 2007, seems a little early to me, and not enough supporting population. Any foreknowledge would be great!

I'll start by saying my SFL-East Market is not EV-DO (barely 1x)...It's hard enough to sell the aircards/smartphones that cost more per month than faster carriers'...but check out this great news from another carrier:

Actually it is in that map. Then national one. It is to the left of the white spot. Do you plan on switching to Alltel or something? Or are you in a Sprint roaming market that Alltel serves?

oops sorry I am quite a bit color blind. got my co-worker to look at it. Ha. I am a Sprint employee and we have EVDO roaming agreements with you, so I am trying to see when ya'll are getting it so I can take advantage of getting an EVDO Data card on my employee account and get some decent speeds.

Well, Alltel is only allowed onto Sprint's EVDO when we are in a roamer market. So, if there is Alltel 1x available our phone will go to that before Sprint EVDO. Make sure you find out whether it is the same with Sprint's side. That would stink to spend money on it then just having 1x.

I totally agree, all the literature says we'll be able to use it. If not hey I can always change the PRL to make it think that Alltel Home SID is a Sprint SID... heh
