Which would be best phone for new purchase? Or to wait for a different phone?
Thing that worries me with PPC is not being able to send pics or text messages?
...
this is like comparing apples to oranges, a pda phone vs a regular phone vs a whatever the kyocera is.
id get the 6700 tho its really nice.
...
But what I'm concerned about is if I get the PPC-6700, do I lose the ability to send text messages and photo messages? How do I get around that? And is the PPC-6700 unlimited use of WiFi?

Deja Vu, Haven't I seen this post before?

Well if you answer my question you won' have to see it, stop being so mean
...
no matter how many times it is answered the question still gets asked.
If they lost you off of this forum they would lose 50% of the posts but only 1% of the content.
you are mistaking brutal honesty for being mean.

I dont know how it works with alltell. but with Verizon if you have the 6700 you can send and recieve text messages all you want with just a text plan however picture messages are using DATA. you need a DATA plan to send and recieved pictures, in adition to a pix messaging plan. this is because even tho the 6700 is a phone with a camera on it, it is not a true camera phone.
its more like a pocket pc that has a camera on it. so sending and recieving pictures uses kilobytes which you would want to speak to your alltell customer care rep to get a plan for. hope that helps

Thats what I thought because my friend has it for Sprint and can't send any text or pictures with it. Apparently you have to send everything via email?
The date plan is unlimited $39 for Alltel and then you wouldn't need the $19 all access pass?
But weird that it has a keyboard but you can't send text message?
And thanks alot Bolthead, but it did make me laugh, lol
...
YOu have to send pics through email. That is the workaround with Alltel. At least someone around here with another carrier can give some useful info instead of bragging about scrintnexhell.
...
So no texting or photo messaging with this phone, rather I would log into my Gmail for example and attach photos and send to their phone? Now how would I send them a text message?
...
Yes to the first one and the answer to the second one would be the same as you do now. The data or the phone, one I cannot remember, will not allow MMS messages so you are stuck with Email. Now if you have the data package you will have unlimited data so you can send pics in this fashion for no additional charge.
