Alltel in Mass?????
According to phonescoop Alltel has service in 33 states.
According to the coverage map on Alltel.com it seems like they have coverage in much of the country. To be honest according to the map they have service just about everywhere except upper vermont. This is very hard to understand. When I type a boston zip code on Alltel.com it say sorry we could not locate any stores in your area. Why would Alltel place a coverage map showing they have service everywhere if infact they do not have serive all over the country.
I am assuming that if Alltel has service in Mass then it's a roaming service where they rent out Verizons signal.
Does anyone know for a fact if Alltel has service in Mass. If they dont can you please explain to me why the...

THat is the national freedom network. That shows coverage but not exactly native coverage. Alltel uses Verizon in Massachusets. They only have a couple of markets in the Northeast and they are in Vermont.

It goes by Who owns which markets and Alltel must not own in your area.. Cell companies have a lot of roaming partners to get service in all those area's. They are also good at showing service everywhere if when it may not work in all those area's.

and just so you know most companies do that on their nationwide plans. verizon shows all red on their coverage maps even though a lot of that coverage is roaming off of another network, ie alltel, us cellular and so on. the only company that doesn't would would be nextel because the system they use currently doesn't allow for roaming onto other networks.
