Snuggles

Is this true, these phones really coming?
The Kyocera are basic phones, but the Razr and Treo are nice.

Kyocera Kx16, Kx5 (all cameras)
Motorola Razr
Nokia 6235i (candy bar style with camera)
Treo is expected in November or December.

YES. Why is your concern on handset mix? 😳

What dates are they coming specifically and at what prices. I have a concern because I'm using an Audiovox 8910 and it gets awful signal and inability to hold a digital signal.
So I want something that gets good signal and with a nice camera.

Then buy the Motorola V710. The V710 has proven to be the handset with the better network performance and picture quality is nice.
Overall, the V710 is the better choice for your demands.

But I've heard alot of problems with the V710? Is it really the phone of choice at Alltel as far as signal and digital voice quality? Even better then the LG 5000, Nokia 6255i, and upcoming Motorola Razr and Treo?

As far as photo quality I haven't been impressed with the photos, it lacks a flash and has to have the best amount of light.

The flash on ANY cell phone is not impressive. The photo quality in ANY cell phone is at least a year out from being impressive. (For example, digital cameras) When the digital camera was first released, it left consumers wanting better quality. Now, digital cameras are extremely impressive. Cameras in cell phones will get better with time.

No, the V710 issues have been addressed with the software update from Motorola. Motorola is continuously researching the V710 and will release updates when a programming issue has been identified.

I beg to differ on the photo quality of camera phones. Phones like the Sayno 5600, Samsung 900, Ericsson over at Cingular, etc...have impressive camera quality as well as great flash, macro and lens features.

It just seems that Alltel, likes to get the low end phones for some reason even though there are high end CDMA phones on the market.

They are still not that great. GSM carriers will get the newer technology before CDMA carriers because GSM is more widely used throughout the world. CDMA is still being deployed.

Judging by your previous posts, you might want to pay the disconnect penalty and switch to Cingular.

Cingular is a good wireless carrier with the handsets that you desire. AT will always be a step behind on deploying the “newest” handset. It just makes financial sense (just ask the shareholders). AT is good wireless company but not the biggest. The big boys will always lend the way.

I didn't want to get into this to start anything but the Motorola V710 is a GOOD PHONE. Yes it has its hardware glitches and sometimes locks up but it is the best phone I've ever used. Everything is great except the camera quality. Speakerphone, reception, and build quality I would say are really nice. A phone you need to look at is the Nokia 6255i, now that phone has a great camera, and the reception is just under the V710. Also the V710 does have flash...

No the 710 has a light, not a flash. Very different.

Its a flash, a Light Emiting Diode Flash. Go to the V710 on here and scroll down to camera...

The Nokia 6255 has been awesome for reception, if theres a signal out there,it will find it. The phone also lets you lock it into digital only if you want which the Moto phones dont.
