With Verizon, their family plan begins at $ 59.99 for TWO phones, additional lines are $ 10.00.
Sorry.. had to correct ya. The only thing I don't like about Alltel is their phones and the plan you were referring to (National Freedom) only covers you in about 85 % of the US, ...

Cingular with no Analog available at all does not give you near the coverage of Alltel or Verizon so by my math Alltels 85% is still greater than Cingulars 100%. BTW don't try the argument that you wouldn't want analog anyway, bet you would if you broke down in rura

But with Cingular, as almost all other carriers, if you want many things done (other than activations, upgrades, and adding features) you are handed a 1-800 number. I don't see how the number of locations enters into it if they aren't empowered to do many of the things an ALLTEL location can.
Alltel stores can do anything you may need done on your account--name changes, promos, upgrades, insurance claims, warranty repairs, activations, bill payments, and nearly anything else. No need for a call center! Now THAT'S customer service!

I would much rather work with a carrier that has a couple people on staff in the stores that are specifically there for a customer service role: fixing/repairing phones, resolving billing problems, issuing any credits that need to be, and making sure the customer has a very enjoyable visit to the store! It would blow my mind if I walked into a store with a defective phone and the rep went in the back and pulled a replacement phone off the shelf for me to have...

If you can show me any evidence other than "their service sucks or I can't get a signal in Mooseport, MN" I would be happy to look at it. But from a company stand point, they are on very solid footing, and have an extrememly low churn rate. It seems that the majority of their customers agree with me!

"cingular has 50 million mobile to mobile. Now what?" a lot of freaking good that will do you if you can't get signal to make the call to one of your 50 million suckers, oops I mean customers! đ
