Technically its still going to be alltel for the customers who have alltel and in a contract from my understanding, so therefore, you wont be Verizon until your contract is over, correct me if im wrong?

There are pictures of an Alltel branded Touch pro out there, i can find them again but i think they are in the touch pro thread of this forum. and I have heard from reps in my area (TampaBay) that it should be released by end of Nov hopefully, Diamond by end of Oct.

Thanx Ducati,

I saw that picture but of course someone also said that it was photoshopped so I wasnt sure if it is real or not. I want to wait for the Touch Pro if it is really coming

The reason I ask is I'm in Phoenix and Vz. is getting rid of alltel towers. My bro. is Vz. and he doesnt get as good a signal as me so I'm worried.

Verizon will be aquiring Alltel towers. I think the only ones they're getting rid of are the ones that overlap with the 2 carriers. If Verizon lacks service in that area they'll convert the Alltel towers to Verizon towers, and if Verizon already has service there and Alltel has coverage they'll probably sell those towers. Thats the way I understood it. So if you have full service with Alltel, after Verizon converts that tower you'll then have full service with Verizon. The other reason they'll be selling towers will be to make the FCC happy. They're having to divest some markets but it doesn't look like its going to hurt alot of places.
