Ok, let me start out by saying that Alltel has been great until now. I recently moved out of the home Alltel area into an area where Alltel doesn't have towers. Now I run and work off of Sprint towers due to the roaming friendships that Alltel has. The problem is that my wife and i are constantly not getting calls or text messages. When we try to call out or send a text message, they don't work or don't get to the recipient. I have talked to Alltel and the response from tech support is that since we are on sprint towers, they are seeing errors on our lines but they can't do anything because the towers are sprint.

I have talked to Alltel and thier customer service says that they see no reason why we can't cancel our contract and not...

if alltel isnt going to allow you out of a contract then try using the phone alot more. but make sure its unlimited so you arent charged. because if alltel is going to continue to pay for you to use sprints towers then your going to cause alot of money for alltel. just use the phone alot. however they may just take the capability to roam off your account, with excessive off-network roaming.

this is just an idea. im not saying it will work.

well, my wife and I are on a 5 line family plan. Between the two of us in all of our minutes used(mobile to mobile, N&W's, Anytimes, etc) we used around 5000 a month between just the two of us. So we use alot already.

I have called and complained alot on this alredy. I spent nearly 3 hours on the phone today between Customer care, retention, tech support, etc and it did nothing for me other than having a ticket opened up with the engineers to look into the problems in our area.

yea i know. but consistency is the key. remember that if you keep on calling your using company resources like customer service and alltel is paying money to take that call, so eventually they will let you out of contract

unfortunatly they will not let you out of the contracts. there is no reason to. sadly the way it works is alltel never changed there service, you moved that is not technically there fault. and the contract is legally binding. sorry to say it but alltel is not at fault here. they sold you phones at a discounted price and you got put on a contract, what i would do is try to do a change of responsibility and get someone you know to take them over or suspend them and let them sit until the contract is up. but like i said the ETFS will be valid if you cancel. so i would try the other options you have

The suspension thing may work to there favor, depending on the length of the contract and the situation...verizon may have good coverage in there area as well.

Bad advice. They will drop him AND make him pay the ETF.
