I was just on the alltel website looking through the phones and the KRZR K1m is back for $79.99 I thought that was pretty weird. Anyone know anything about that?

yup its back, apparently the glitches are all out. I was hoping it would come out in a different color though. Im just wondering what they are going to do for all the defective ones...because they used to be giving ppl a 200 dollar credit for the k1m, but how are they supposed to tell the differences b/t the 2?

According to my Indirect Acct. Mgr, there is a slight update (would not specify), and a change of color. Stay away, IMO.

I don't know how the website got ahold of the K1m's, they are actually a third party dealer, it's not through corporate Alltel. But the new model coming out is suppose to be a K1m3 according to our account manager and our ordering list from Alltel. The color has changed and that's about all I know from there.

According to Alltel, the color DID change. It may be similar, but it's all apples to oranges anyway. Celltop was supposedly added, indicating a firmware update. From what I've heard, that's it. While they were current issue, they didn't sell. Now that they've been phased out, they're in demand again.

According to my sources they are selling what they had left over which is A LOT if you remember alltel began selling k1m's and then recalled them all shortly after, they now have a overwhelming inventory of the phones. All the other carriers have went through the KRZR phase and discontiued theirs. Alltel is hoping that since not very many customers got to get a KRZR because of the recall, it will be a hot item, I'm thinking alltel is going to have to take one for the team on this one. The KRZR is over and done with. The only way to get this phone selling is to offer is for 15 to 30 dollars tops.

The glitches are supposed to be fixed and has new software loaded on them. They are a different color and they are the K1m3 now that we are selling. Not the K1m or K1m2. Our supplier has run out of the K1m2's so we can now start getting the K1m3's in to our stores.

from a company email:

"This KRZR is the exact same model as the previous KRZR (with software issues fixed) and therefore has the same features such as EvDO, Bluetooth, 1.3mp camera, MP3 player with external touch screen."

This should be interesting.
