I go to college at Marquette in downtown Milwaukee,WI, I know there has been this new buyout and all but does anyone know when Alltel is to get any roaming agreements for EVDO in the Milwaukee area. What I find interesting is my friends Treo is on EVDO in Milwaukee but not my KRZR. Back in my home network I did the *288 to update my phone so I know it has the latest roaming agreements.

The PRL list that Alltel has for the phones don't have Sprint's SIDs marked as EVDO. So the phone won't see it. The data cards and some smartphones do have it however. You can manually load the PRL onto your KRZR with Bitpim if you'd like. The PRL you need it 40023, there is another as well that allows it, can't remember the number.

No problem. Your phone shouldn't have any roaming problems.

There may be a rare few areas where the old prl may have had a different network higher in the priority, but if that is the case you can always load back on the 30008 prl.

You can find the different PRL's here - http://corolada.com/prl/

you want to download your current one, 30008, and 40023.

Then you need to find a copy of P.s.t 7.2.3, this post will probably be deleted if I send you a link. So try googling for it.

Themps, I have a situation very similar to this one. My buddy is in Alltel's EV-DO coverage. but when he travels 60 miles to Topeka, Ks Alltel roams. Sprint does have the DO there. But his phone won't grab it. His current PRL is 30008. How can we manually override this. His weapon is the PPC6700. Can you help?

Yes, download 40023 and 30008 (for backup) at http://corolada.com/prl/

Put the prl file on the phone in my documents. Put both actual.

Then go into phone mode, dial ##775 press talk. A menu will come up, type 000000 as the code. Then click on update PRL, view/edit, then select browse. Find the PRL on your phone and select it, then press ok, ok. Then the phone should reset.

You can then check the PRL version by going to the phone information in the system settings.

Thanks for the info. My buddy is going to try it on his Starcom. I will let you know the results soon. I have traveled into the area for the weekend. I see what he is talking about. My aircard get's Sprints EV-DO but not my motorola Q. I downloaded the prl 40023. But I can't seem to figure out where to change it on the phone. Is it in the NAM settings?
Can you help again?

The Q is a little different. The only way I know how to load it on that one is by doing what this thread does...you will need a program called p.s.t or qpst.....

http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4 ... »

Alltel is supposed to be releasing MOL3 for the Q that is supposed to support EVDO roaming and allow it to download the the PRL by dialing *228.......

here is a step by step.....

1. Copy the PRL to your device
2. Dial ##775 (##PRL)
3. Enter the unlock code 000000
Tap on "Update PRL" (at top) and then "Edit", (bottom left)
5. A file browse dialog will come up. Browse to the PRL file you placed on the phone, tap "OK" and then "OK" again. The device will reset and you will have the new PRL.

How do you do that for the Motorola RAZR V3m?

To change the PRL on the RAZR you need a program called PST 7.2.3 or higher. Then you download the PRL from the site above and use PST to write the PRL to the phone. It will reset and you will have a new prl....
