I haven't been on phonescoop for quite sometime but I do have a few questions for this forum. I used to work at VZW in NY until about a year and a half ago. I now live in Florida and I am shopping around since my contract with VZW is almost up. I am looking for a 4 phone family plan and going by price, you have VZW beat hands down since it looks like you have 200 more minutes and the MyCircle. (correct me if I am wrong). I see on the website that it states you have the largest network..when did this all happen?? Is it true? I still travel from Florida to upstate NY and just want to make sure I am still getting good service. I know Alltel is mostly based in the south and thats the only reason I am bringing this up. Next, does Alltel o...

It is the largest network by square mileage. As far as discounts, I hate to admit it, but I'm not up on all of them, so you may want to call customer service at 800-alltel-1 for a definitive answer. Your service should be the same, or better, as your experience with VZW.

As for phones, I would reccomend the E815 (stellar phone), and V3m (not quite as good as the 815 in my opinion, but still a great phone) as the standouts if you're not looking at a smart phone. I can't really say anything personally yet about the 8600, as I haven't had a chance to get my hands on it. To be honest, it's just a RAZR like version of the KRZR from what I've seen, with a different UI. It does have Celltop though, so that could be a difference maker for yo...

I have never really been happy with motorola phones in the past, but maybe that's just me. Is there anything good or bad about the Kyocera Strobe that you could tell me about?

The Strobe is piece of junk unless you do nothing but text. I would wait until alltel's next lineup of phones, i hear on the rumor mill their is a good nokia for texting coming out....

Issues with data is the primary problem with it. Battery life is suspect, and reception is less than the Motos.

Even though you haven't been happy with other "lesser" Motos in the past, please check the E815 out. I also hated Motos in the past, but I assure you, that this is the best phone in the line-up, and that is saying something, considering that we've had some great phones recently (the V3c was wonderful, as is the V3m, a couple of the recent LGs have been outstanding, and the Samsungs are getting great reviews).

If you're dead set against Motos, but you'd still like something nice, you can also take a good look at the U520. Nice features in a phone, and it has Celltop as well, in addition to being the first phone Alltel has c...

For discounts you have to check with your HR rep at Bank of America, if they don't know about it you arn't able to get a discount.

Alltel does have largest coverage because of the large rural coverage. In big cities you are most likely using Verizon or Sprint coverage so it should be as good as now.

As far as phones what there something specific you wanted to be able to do with it? txt msg easy or play mp3's? samsung u520 is a pretty sweet phone so is motorola E815, its the best all around phone I have ever had. Predictive txt is great plus it plays MP3's as ringtones which can save you a lot of money plus it does everything else bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera/video, also voice activated dialing for motorola's beat anythere brand han...
