😈 http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/tele com/2007-01-08-sprint_x.htm 😈

Seems the Exodus is in the Nextel base ! I really believe Sprint is "quietly" expunging Nextel for new Sprint accounts.

Considering that all I had to do was "port over" and Sprint gave me a new V3M just like I was a brand new walk in !

The service performance on Nextel is really getting worse in my area. I have no idea what makes it that way. My new Sprint service is a solid 4 to 5 bars and clear as can be.

I avoided the early out fee and am happy with new service. 😉 😉 😁

I believe it they take no responsibility for anything and on top of that they try to blame the customer! Just give it time you'll hate them too!

not everyone takes a few experiences and act immature and think that sprint is the only company that can give you those experience. NO company is perfect. Just the other day verizon had no service in the area I live in. It was reported it was not their fault at all it was stupid workers that cut a fiber line. Do people still blame them yes the Corpsman-up types do. I tell them it could have happen to sprint alltel or cingular here. Get over your problem. Whatever man creates it WILL break sometime. And last time I checked god did not create any wireless network

Sprint is NOT "quietly expunging Nextel for new Sprint accounts. In fact, Sprint has just launched the first ever hybrid phones. They work on the Sprint CDMA voice and data network, and the Nextel IDEN walkie-talkie network. This is an awesome solution to the Nextel coverage issue. Also, the reason that you received the new activation price on the RAZR is because you were eligible for the new act. price, not because Sprint wants to eliminate Nextel. 😁

RE: "They [new hybrid phones] work on the Sprint CDMA voice and data network, and the Nextel IDEN walkie-talkie network. This is an awesome solution to the Nextel coverage issue."

That would be true IF Sprint's coverage was better than Nextel's, but it's not. In fact, the two were very close to the same in coverage pre-merger, with a slight nod overall going to Nextel's coverage. Yes, there are some places in the US where Sprint has coverage and Nextel doesn't, but overall there are/were more places where Nextel had coverage and Sprint didn't. It's even easier to see that with their new combined coverage map.

What they REALLY needed was a phone that could do PTT on the Nextel network, and do cellular calls on either Nextel's iDEN or Sp...

Although I'M keeping an open mind on the hybrid phones. I've stated that while I understand not using IDEN for voice, why not at least have 800 CDMA roaming?

In my area, I will gain quite a bit with a hybrid phone vs. a standard IDEN, but nationally, you're right. Western North Carolina and much area out West still will have gaping holes in coverage with this phone, so we need a tri-band (like the RL phones have).

Great post!!! The purpose of the hybrid is the same half-a$$ed solution during the ATT/Cingy GAIT days. The Nokia 6340i and that Ericsson crap-box phone were just to get people by until the completed upgrade...

Same here, this is just a by-way until QChat goes online...

saying that overall coverage for one company than the other is the funniest thing i have ever heard because i get tired of having cell phone companies brag about how good they're network is when it only matters where each individual customer needs it great vcoverage in new york and la doesn't do crap for me in st louis when a cell phone co can cover every inch of the u.s. then start bragging i am sooo tired of hearing one co. say my crappy network isn't as bad as your crappy network

I agree with most of your comments. Where nationwide coverage for a customer would be important would be those who are in say, the trucking industry and do a lot of long haul driving, or professional salespeople who travel the country a lot.

World travelers might also want to consider the need for GSM phones or CDMA/GSM hybrid phones for their communication needs.

I'm with you though, on what works best where you live and work, as that determines where you need a phone that performs well. Even though Sprint PCS has way better coverage than Nextel (through roaming agreements), Nextel works better in my area. I don't travel much myself, and most places I do go have Nextel coverage, so the "best" nationwide coverage is not an issue for me...

Sprint is losing 300,000 customers per quarter not per month. The net add-ons for the fourth quarter of last year was only around 212,000. Compared to VW 1.2 million net add-ons.

The problem lies in more areas than service issues. It sits with the lack of the companies focus on internal systems, the moral of the employees on the front lines, the inconsistent knowledge of the employees that actually answer questions for customers. Try it. Give them a call and try to get the same answer from five different people. It won't happen. I deal with it and I am not your average customer.

Every carrier goes through issues. Some just have hold of the reigns a little better and are able to fix the issues before it gets out of control. Sprint, un...

Are you serious man? Ehverytime I see a post from you, it's some ridiculous uneducated comment. It's no wonder why Sprint Nextel consistently ranks lowest in customer care and quality.
