Am i the only one who think Nextel's prices are sky high compared to its service and other carriers? Just curious. Anyone know if they will ever come down in price.. maybe verizon or sprint get a better ptt feature?? thanks

I don't think so...I get:

1000 anytime minutes
Unlimited Night & Weekends
Unlimited Long Distance
Unlimited PTT
Wireless Web
all for $54.99 and with my 10% discount it drops below $50.00.

So just on the PTT being included it beats out Sprint and Verizon on the price side, but that is this month. You know how the carriers change the prices/airtime allotments frequently so a lot of time its difficult to compare.

I highly doubt that NEXTEL will really come down in price as most of their users are corporations and they factor it in to their cost of doing business.

Yes, but like most new plans don't you have to pay for voice mail? I have used NEXTEL before and I switched to Sprint with their Ready Link (PTT) service. I love it, and especially so since NEXTEL cut back the power on their towers.

Sprint has a similar plan:
500 anytime
Unlim. N & W starting at 7 pm
Free roaming on partner networks (best coverage overall)
Unlimited Ready Link and Vision (which does not take up minutes)
That's at $65, but overall I feel it's worth it for so many high powered features, doubly so now with Sprint TV... 15 frames/sec and streaming audio.

Its an enterprise discount. In certain industries they give individuals the same discount they give the corporations/organizations.

ID and/or pay stub is all that is required.

Yeah. Nextel provided the company I worked for a 30% reduction in handset price...but only a 3% reduction on the monthly plan you picked. Oh well. Better than nothing.

kanga in my opinion i dont think nextel will change their price plans that much.. maybe a 1-2 percent increase or decrease but they wont change it any further.. they attract the most expensive and most reliable customers and they want to keep it that way...

verizon and sprint will never see a better push to talk feature then nextel's.
