I just subscribed to the Premium Web service on my Nextel i830 because I want to be able to access my MSN Hotmail among other things.

So far, when I enter my ID and password, all I get is "we failed to log you into passport.net" blah ba blah ba blah.

I've called the customer support at least a half dozen times on this issue and I've gotten answers ranging from reset the phone browser to you must have a problem with your hotmail ID and finally one stupid girl actually said "the premium web is for accessing POP3 email and hotmail is not POP3 by default - it's an extra service you have to pay for on your hotmail account". NO BS, she actually said something to that effect and blew me off. I figured I would just keep calling until I got a...

How does the mobile email work? Can you access your corporate email? Does the company have to have something setup to do this? I have to be dialed into my company's network in order to access my corp. email from my laptop. They do not have outside web access. Will this still work with Nextel? Also, if I get the full service for $15 will I be able to access hotmail as well?

Thanks.

Mobile email would not give you the ability to access your corporate email from your phone unless you are using it as a Modem W/ the Packet Stream Gold service. This require a data device like the BLACKBERRY, and a Data Service Plan. Not to mention the fact that your companies IT Department has to give you the ability to access your email from that device, otherwise you would not be able to get through the companies firewall. I have full service web on my Nextel, and I use it all the time to check my hotmail acct and AIM. The only problem is it is for text only and will not show attachments, so it can be annoying depenant on what kind of emails you would be recieving. However, the BLACKBERRY is a full data device and can recieve attachm...

Packetstream gold is basically a bucket of data, for use with a device like the IM-1100 modem. You do not use Packetstream gold with a BlackBerry. Blackberry has its own data plans, which may be purchased individually or with a voiceplan.

Nextel has several levels of web service. Basic is like 3 bucks a month, no yahoo or hotmail access. Premium web is what you should using to get to those sites.

The messaging package is budle that include; premium web, 2-way text messaging and AOL instant messaging.

Mobile-Email allows the handset to access POP-3 emails and some corporate emails. You will need to check with your IT department to see if there a firewall or any restrictions regarding that.

Get a Blackberry if you do a lot o...
