It depends on which PTT your referring to as there are 2 different types on NEXTEL, one on-network and the other off-network.

If both parties have a signal regardless of location in the US with Nextel, you can PTT.

I would think it was just as difficult to listen into a PTT/phone conversation on 8xx MHz iDEN as it would the same on GSM or CDMA.

Direct talk uses the 900MHZ ISM band. I have used it, and was impressed with the nice clear sounding audio. I was able to talk to a co-worker 3 miles away across a city. Great for P.S, but maybe not a big deal for the average consumer. Heh Mark, I hear Nextel is investing big bucks in network hardening in the FL markets this year. Don't want to get caught with there pants down again. 😕

Yep I have heard the same thing. I'll believe it when I see it from all the carriers, especially on their dependence of BellSouth T-1's.

I think Mark and I both have stated that. Considering we are in the know in wireless. You on the other hand are a 15yr old kid that doesn't even know how a cell site works.

Wow. I'm sure Mark is thrilled he has YOUR confirmation on this. And after he posted the very same information, no less. You've got that uncanny knack, skippy.

I'm not particularly thrilled with your gloating and smarmy comebacks. If Mark posts something, great...there's no need for you to come back with "Yeah, I posted that months ago"...we don't really care. Mark is the only guy on this particular fo...

Well, I don't see you around these parts too much, Tech. But you'll certainly get the benefit of the doubt from me since you're not singlehandedly trying to make me insane.

whats up with you and "check spelling"? i know that you cant provide any information to this board so you harrass and bash others who do. big deal that they dont press that spell check. maybe its becuase i dont want to? maybe its becuase you cant tell me what to do?

why dont you go bother someone else instead of me.

by the way, i give factual information and input to this board however, YOU DONT.
