why does all nextel phones have bad battery life? my audiovox 8610 has like 7 days on standby, but these phones have like 3 days!!!
Nextel's direct connect takes a lot of battery life. So if you're useing it its going to drain faster. You can buy exteneded life batteries that will last longer than normal, but they get hot and could damage the boards on your phone.
For what all a nextel does.. it has awesome battery life.
Keep in mind its going to be shorter if you have the flashing antenna, keypad, battery, and what have yous.
i dont know what you are looking at exactly in regards to battery life but to repeat nextel has a terrible battery life. old, new, or whatever they still have a bad battery life especially if you compare it to other manufacturers.

with regards to, " don't understand why Nextel or even the iDEN division don't integrate them into their phones. I'm sure it'd make alot of people happier." maybe becuase motorola iden is trying to mess with nextel becuase they have before in the past with the delaying of the 6:1 voice coder and probably delaying the WIDEN upgrade. they also delayed many phones probably becuase of motorola. so i guess this is nothing new. plus i also think motorola iden is trying to mess up nextel. again, they will get theirs when nextel/sprint merge.
