I used to have Nextel and switched to Cingular because I had a lot of dropped calls. Can anyone in the Balto-Was (mainly Balto.) area give some insight on how this hybrid service with ic502 phone compares to Nextel only service? Thanks.

If you intend on using the hybrid exclusively in the BaWa area you shouldn't have too much of an issue as this market is mainly 1900Mhz.

Note, I'm not saying that the phone will work flawlessly but the 850Mhz CDMA is a bit of a non issue for this area.

a bit of a non issue my butt i live in 1900 land and I still needed the 850 even in a dense 1900 area!! anyways if you ever plan to travel outside that area chances are good you'll be screwed.

Thanks for the replies. The service map I saw confirms what both of you say about the 1900 being dense in this area. I can't find anyone in this area that has this service, but the sales reps say that their customers seem to be happy with it. Corpsman-up, you make the arguments that I am concerned about. I want to hear some Balto. area user opinions. Also, a sales rep told me that the ic902 may not come out until June. I'll see how long I can wait...
