Yes, I said V3i. This handset has appeared on our April agent handset pricing (and no, I won't tell you how much at this time since it hasn't been officially released).
Could mean we will see it very soon, could mean nothing.

I got the Cingular V3 when it came out and the Verizon V3c is an upgraded phone, but the menu is way different than the Cingular version and unlocked/unbranded Motorola versions. I actually got the V3i this past week and it is better than the V3 and the V3c! 😁

Hopefully it isn't more than $199 with a two year contract considering you can get it unlocked at myworldphone.com for $289.00 (Unlocked w/256Mb t-flash card)

My guess is it will be a decent amount more than what you say. You don't even know if the one they have will release with the same stuff so it isn't a fair comparison at this point.

Considering the phone has not been released yet even by Motorola direct it is highly unlikely the handset is the same. Go ahead and provide the link but I would be very curious as to quantity and features of the ebay handsets.

Dude, go look on ebay or wherever you like, this phone IS released, it's just not available THROUGH Cingular yet. You can buy it and use it on their network to your heart's content.

I own it, with cingular. everything works except media net. but you can still use the internet. 50 song limit with itunes.

You didn't buy it from a U.S. distributor. Look, put the information out so others can make an informed decision but don't answer my comment with something stupid like that.
It is not out in the U.S., period. There are risks involved with purchasing from a non U.S. vendor, Cingular or otherwise. MOST people don't need to take the risk because they don't have to have it right away.

It's actually been available for quite a while now, but only for carriers to order from moto in the US. I would guess the extra wait has been from cingulars internal testing (My managers father is the moto rep for the western region) Anyways, I have seen some things on CSP that suggest it should be available either on or right after mothers day.....Dont take that as a concrete release date tho 😉

Typically Europe has lower profit margins for manufacturers but I am highly skeptical of this. He also has a 97.7% feedback rating. In the world of ebay sellers that is not a great rating. Not bad, but certainly not great.

I've had the same issues with Moto handsets/accessories before, and currently the same issue with a v3i. They have/will honor the warranty once the US version is announced though. They always wind up sending me a brand new US version of whatever product it is, in this case a defective v3i w/dedicated itunes button. I'm in holding pattern now until Cingular releases their version so I can get mine fixed. Just my two cents.

I'm sure it was an isolated incident/handset. I intended to wait, but the phone was on the market for like 6 or 7 months already and I didn't think they'd (Cingular) get it anytime soon. Plus I figured they'd skip this v3i and go for a 3g version of something from Moto.

BTW, just wanted to let you know that my v3i has been fixed. 🙂 I'm on a visit to Chicago (Motorola's headquartered near here) and I was able to obtain the latest firmware and my v3i is back up and running! They gave me a new firmware that allows listing of the last 30 calls made or recieved instead of the 10; I'm in heaven!!

I already have one which I bought in Europe and have a Cingular Sim in while here. Its a great phone with 1 serious flaw. Unless you are 25 years old with perfect hearing, you will probably have to hack the gain table in order to get the volume up high enough to hear it well. Once I did that, I was happy with the phone.
