Contract up 10/01/04 ?'s help

My contract is up in a couple of weeks and I went to Cingular yesterday to figure some things out and am more confused.

I was under the impression that we pay a month in advance. If that is so, then this month's payment due September 25th is an extra payment for them? Is there a way that this month's payment could be the beginning of my next contract? The Cingular sales rep told me that I need to pay this month's payment and then when the contract is up on the 1st of October, they would just give me the money back for the 6 days I didn't use. Well, didn't he mean they would give me the money back for the 23 or so days I didn't use???

I'm just trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to enter into a new 2 year contract with t...

Find out the close date of your billing cycle. Make your changes then, or the day before, and you won't be prorated if you make a price plan change.

As for speakerphones, if you want to get off cheap check out the Siemens C61, or the Nokia 3100.

The V400 is an awesome phone. I have one and love it.

you can upgrade at any time, you dont need to wait for your contract to expire. cust call customer service, or better yet goto the local cingular store.

your billing is not a full month in advcne. for example my bill date starts on the 10th of every monh. My bill is due on the 28th over every monty. and I am paying untill the 10th of next month. So lets say my bill that is due on 9/28 my bill is acutally for the period of 9-11 to 10-10. Make sense? so it is not a full month in advance that you are paying.

It doesn't matter when you upgrade, you don't need to wait until contract is up or until your billing cycle date. (in your case, you are close enough to the end of the contract)
What the rep at the store was saying was if you were to end with cingular, doesn't seem to me like he understood that you were interested in continuing.
When you upgrade, if you want to avoid prorated charges, just have them prorate the new rate plan to begin your billing cycle date.
The V220 is a cool phone, less expensive than the V400. Keep in mind that the phone is newer than the 400 and the 400 has been in use on our network longer. In my area, the V400 is one of the better phones on our network.

what else is nice about the motorola phones that you are l...

How can you tell if it's a Cingular company store, by asking?

Why I say that is there were 2 Cingular stores near each other in my neighborhood; one closed recently and I was told that store was an agent. I would have never known since the sign was Cingular just like the company store. Just curious. 😎

usually on the sign it should say "authorized agent" in small print below the cingular logo. or if the guy in there is wearing jeans, its proboly an agent 😉
