No matter how good Cingular does, there are always hater out there that have something negative to say about Cingular. And I am not only talking about the trolls from other forums. I am talkling about the Industry Magazines and even the Media.

Here's what I mean:

(here they even put the picture of that guy who also makes the Subway's commercials)

I agree. Whats with sprint straight up bashing cingular and no one else in all of its commercials. I saw one today that said simply. Sprint offers free imcoming plans for businesses. Cingular does not. Wow that is so profound sprint great job.

Plain and simple, Anx...Cingular has a target on it's back because it has proven again and again that it is a viable threat in the marketplace. Nobody ever roots for number one, do they?

Prime example is Sprint targeting Cingular, not Verizon, in all of their advertising. You have to make the best look bad, to make yourself look better.

Yes thanks for the marketing and business acumen kind sir. Sprint has it sights on number one and you find a discrepancy with this? As though the wireless industry is the first marketplace where the number 1 is the first to be lambasted by its competition. Thats not a very wise argument. At the very least its not so simple.

Do you even know what you're talking about?

What applies to the wireless industry applies most places. Just because it's a normal business tactic doesn't mean it's not valid.

Sore over Sprint's performance a bit? 🤨

Thank you for just validating my argument. I just stated that the wireless industry is not the first to have its sightlines on number 1 and your rebuttal is that this industry practice is commonplace. How is that something other than stating my argument back to me?

I'm not sore over Sprints performance, i'm just wondering if their is a map to the fantasy land you Cingular customers live in.

That wasn't exactly your argument, now was it? Yes, you stated that...but you also said "it's not so simple."

Really, it is that simple. Sprint has been struggling since the second quarter post-merger and they're desperate to catch customers attention. What better way to do that than target number one?

It's that simple.

What fantasy land is it that you speak of?

No sir, I merely stated your wording validated my statement and any person fluent in logic would realize that.

I don't know why you keep focusing on Sprint as thought I was defending them. I was not defending them, you need to read a little more clearly. I was defending the marketing in principle and your anger that Sprint has attacked Cingular but not another provider. Your shock is puzzling to me, although perhaps I pay more attention to marketing in general where number 1 is always attacked. Just watch most car commercials where the competition is constantly brought up in negative light. Its the same principle.

The first link speaks of the rebranding effort, and even says it makes sense.

The second and forth point out facts about the fourth quarter. How is that bashing?

And the third speaks of the difficulties posed by rebranding, with a bit about negative word of mouth.

You take Cingular too seriously, there is no "hating" involved in any of those articles. I would think that touting numbers is something you guys would appreciate. When Cingular had the most adds in a quarter, it was posted quite often on this forum.
